Michael Pineda, Executive Chef

We welcomed Chef Pineda to Glen Oaks Country Club in December of 2018 along with his wife, Carla and 13-year-old son, Austin. Chef brings an extensive culinary background to us from the Club & Resort field including Trophy Country Club in Texas, Omni Bedford Springs Resort in Pennsylvania, Hilton Hotels in Dallas, The Petroleum Club of Fort Worth, Mid-America Club in Chicago and Hotel Nikko also in Chicago.

Below is a brief bio and message from Chef Pineda:

In Chicago my uncle had a small family restaurant that I decided to venture into as a young man and after several years working alongside family, they noticed I had a talent for cooking. One day my uncle suggested we look into a culinary school, which at that time was Kendall College. I immediately fell in love with the school, the atmosphere and the whole idea of becoming a Chef and Kendall gave me the foundation, information, fundamentals and knowledge to continue on an upward path.

Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to work in several wonderful facilities with great Chef’s where I have learned to craft my own set of culinary skills that I am looking forward to showcasing at Glen Oaks.

My wife Carla and I have been together for 15 years. We have one son together, 13-year-old Austin. I also have two sons Tanner 21 and Sammy 18, they live in the suburbs of Chicago.

We are pet friendly family with a dog and two cats.

If I were to describe what I am best at as far as a culinary style, it is to be skilled at every cuisine. I like to continuously explore different techniques, flavors and regions. My ultimate goal is to find the perfect balance of knowledge in every cuisine around the globe, and my professional journey to date has allowed this to be achievable.
